May 4, 2021  Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier

For in every corner of every room were phantoms of a time dead but not forgotten—a past devotedly preserved by the sinister housekeeper, Mrs. Danvers: a suite immaculate and untouched,   Discussion Leader: Sally Ebnet  7:30 pm Central time.

July 6, 2021  at 7:30 pm.  Fifty Words for Rain by Asha Lemmie

There is a lot of pressure for this book.  If ordering from the library, start early.

Kyoto, Japan, 1948. “Do not question. Do not fight. Do not resist.”
Such is eight-year-old Noriko “Nori” Kamiza’s first lesson. She will not question why her mother abandoned her with only these final words. She will not fight her confinement to the attic of her grandparents’ imperial estate. And she will not resist the scalding chemical baths she receives daily to lighten her skin.

For those who like to get books at the library.  We have found all of the above available.  The longest line is for Rebecca  so we suggest ordering this one early.

We will add books to our list as the group decides what to read next.

Zoom links will be published on our Facebook page : Minneapolis-St. Paul Alumnae Chapter of Delta Delta Delta  and in the Evite we send out 3 weeks before each meeting.
